Light on Blue
Life desires to stream by,
Like the shimmering colors in the river that do catch ones eye.
The sight can only be enjoyed so long,
Before the rapids push it onward strong.
Sometimes the water moves slow enough that is seems to stay,
Though that glittering beauty always will fade away.
Some people try chasing this artwork all the day,
But when night comes they find that this river flows into
A dark, black bay.
If only they had remembered what they already knew,
That the light would come back tomorrow because it is the
Sun that creates a light on this water so blue.
I was partially inspired to write this from Our Town, and from some other life experiences :)
